What name did that guy think you were pronouncing wrong? I can only assume it’s “Gillespie” since “Aaron” is pretty common. Did he want you to put more emphasis on the “Gill”? Or make it more like “Gel-es-p”. I was kind of happy when I got married because I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about people pronouncing my last name wrong . . . turns out Sheley’s mis-pronounced even more often. Everyone wants to say “Shelly”, like the girl’s name. Of course, those are usually the same people that call me “Alisha” or “A-lisa” or “Allison” . . . so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
