In all honesty, I think I got the easy way out with being able to major in mathematics. Sure, all the formulas I have to memorize, and labs I have to get done don't make it any easier, but I get to do all of that in my in-class time. There's no research to be done, or papers to be typed. The only time I have to do that is in my gen-ed classes.

To deal with your situation, I remember how you always wanted to be a journalist, or something of that sort. Maybe you've changed since then, or hell, maybe you've forgotten about it, but whatever appeals to you, you have to at least try it. Plus, there's all kinds of minors out there to get.

Oye. I hope that you'd considered changing majors before Movie Gallery knocked the wind out of your sails. Try not to let it bother you - consider the decision maker. They're either:
A. a college kid not unlike yourself, but a little older probably a lot geekier) that feels your superior movie knowledge might challenge their position of authority
-or-
B. someone older, who didn't go to college and is now generally pissed at the world cause Movie Gallery is "the best it gets".

When I get really overwhelmed at work, and feel like I've got to much too fast, I make a list of everything I've got, when it's due and schedule out the tasks (research this, write rough draft for that, etc). Then I just focus on what has to be done today - not the big picture. Then I start feeling a little more positive about things.
